The Basement
A recurring dream that is trying to tell me something. A deep, unconscious, something.

This is based on a recurring dream that I have had for years. Now and then, it visits…I don’t know what it means or what it is trying to say to me, if it is trying to say anything at all.
Each time is different, but the theme is always the same.
There is always a basement…
A house
Unfamiliar house
Big, unfamiliar house
With a basement
A big basement
A dark basement
Where’s the light switch?
Got to find the light switch.
Lots of stuff in the basement
Old furniture and broken things
Old things and broken furniture
What’s that sound? Anyone there?
Someone in the basement.
People in the basement.
Strangers in the basement
Lots of strange people in the basement
So noisy. And crowded. And careless.
Get off the table! Look what you did!
Hey! Don’t do that! Put it down!
Where did they come from?
There’s a door in the basement
The door was not locked?
Why didn’t I lock it?
Where’s the key?
Stupid, broken lock.
They keep coming in.
And so much noise.
So much noisy noise!
Shut up! And get out!
NOW!
